The Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) is a lay member of the faithful who has been appointed to help distribute Holy Communion.

The term “reader” refers to any member of the faithful has been appointed to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture at Mass, except the Gospel.

Music MinistryList Item 2

UsherList Item 3
Responsible for the good order in the Liturgical Celebration. Ushers meet and greet the people at the door, lead them to their places and to Communion stations, hand out bulletins, and take up collections. Any parishioner, 18 years or older, contact 203.869.9393.

Social Concerns Ministry
Provides hot meals on a monthly basis to New Covenant House. Organizes ongoing food pantry efforts for local charities.

St. Matthew Society
Our offertory counters are responsible for counting the funds collected at Mass each week. Each group volunteers about once a month.

Parish Pastoral Council
Ideally a Parish Pastoral Council helps the pastor direct the mission of the parish. It does so out of charity as well as from Canon Law. The PPC is involved in most activities and programs effecting the liturgical and spiritual life of St. Mary Parish.

Finance Council
The Parish Finance Council is a consultative body of lay persons mandated by Canon law to advise the Pastor in matters pertaining to the financial affairs of the Parish. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets.
